By Aaron Humes: Two of the biggest events in the September Celebrations calendar will have more or less permanent homes as agreed by the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and National Celebrations Commission, a subsection of National Institute of Culture and History.
A joint agreement created in April was formally signed on Thursday.
Expo Belize Marketplace takes place on September 3 and 4, 2016, and the calendar established up to 2030 places it in the second or third weekend of September.
Meanwhile, the Carnival King and Queen Competition takes place on September 3 and the Road March on September 17.
Generally, the two events are kept apart to avoid conflict with each other and with either the Tenth or 21st celebrations. Twice the second day of the Expo falls on September 20th, while Carnival is scheduled before or after September 10th.
