By Aaron Humes: Fifty-four year old Jose Augustine Garrido, a fisherman from Consejo, one of three men charged with possession of 142 lobster tails during closed season, was fined a total of $3,045 today by Magistrate Carlon Mendoza after he pled guilty to the charge.
Garrido was given until November 7 to pay. If he defaults on payment he will serve 1 year. The charge was withdrawn from the two accused, Jose Ramirez and Jose Rodriguez.
On Tuesday Fisheries Officers went to the Port of Stuck area and upon their arrival they saw when the fishermen throw two white sacks into the mangrove.
When the officers retrieved the sacks they saw that they contained lobster tails.
