Mother slaps teacher over exam review

Aaron Humes: A domestic who is accused of slapping her son’s teacher over exam notes was today arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court for the offense of common assault. 

35 year old Domestic, Sophie Suzanne Myvett, a resident of Jane Usher Boulevard, Belize City, was granted police bail and allowed to walk to court this morning where she appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser to answer to a single charge of common assault upon a Teacher, Myra Cus, of the Muslim Community Primary School located at the corner of Central American Boulevard and Faber’s Road, Belize City.

On Friday, June 10, 2016, she slapped Teacher Myra Cus during an incident which unfolded inside the Principal’s office.

Myvette visited the Muslim Community Primary School and when the teacher refused to give her the exam review notes, she then followed the teacher into the Principal’s office where she slapped her.

In court, Myvett pleaded not guilty to the charge and since there was no objection to bail, Senior Magistrate, Sharon Fraser granted her bail in the sum of $600 plus one surety of the same amount which she met by 12 noon today.

Sophie Suzette Myvett is due back in court on August 23, 2016.
