GOB: We won’t pay another award

There appears to be a dispute over whether most of the money will be paid in Belize dollars from local reserves and domestic borrowing, or US dollars as the Ashcroft Alliance is demanding.

And it’s not over yet: There is still a pending dispute in a US court where Belize may have to pay the Alliance over 80 million dollars. Last week the Prime Minister said that one they will not pay – he is “absolutely convinced” of that but declined to into further detail.
