More drugs and a firearm off Punta Gorda Streets

By Aaron Humes: Punta Gorda Police and the K-9 Unit conducted operations in that town and confiscated 562 gram of cannabis on Wednesday.

The first batch of 156 grams was found at the residence of Anthony Johnson. Police have arrested and charged Anthony Johnson, 36, Sean Garcia, 25; Denbigh Neal, 38; and Gary Cooper, 34 for drug trafficking.

A separate search led officers to 209 grams in an empty lot on Jose Maria Nunez Street and another 207 on a second abandoned lot on the same street.

Further searches led police to recover a 12 gauge pump action shot gun in an abandoned lot behind the St. Benedict Primary School building in the Indianville area in Punta Gorda Town.
