New Police Minister meets with top brass

By Aaron Humes: This week Senator Godwin Hulse, who succeeds John Saldivar as Minister of Home Affairs with responsibility for the Police Department, met with more than 100 senior officials to chart a way forward.

This afternoon, he told us that there will be a renewed sense of law and order: “crime will not pay” anymore as some believe.

On the matter of William Mason, mere regulations cannot stop officers from socializing with men of such ilk if their background is not well-known. But once it is, says Hulse, the onus is on the officers to dig deeper and expose it.
