25 for 25: BTL delivers complement of scholarships for students

By Aaron Humes: Belize’s largest scholarship program today delivered another 25 scholarships for students in its 25th year of operation.

Executive Chair of Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL), Anwar Barrow, said that as BTL has evolved in its services, these future leaders have an opportunity to evolve their lives through education and technology.

Special guest, Minister of Education Patrick Faber, acknowledged that while more than 12 million dollars is spent in scholarships annually,  it is not nearly enough and BTL’s and other corporate sponsorship is well appreciated.

BTL demands top academic performance from Standard 4 to 6 inclusive, high PSE performance, and proof of financial need. It covers full tuition fees and books for 4 years subject to continued excellent performance.

More than 300 students are graduates of the program over 25 years.
