By Aaron Humes: The 15 year old boy accused of the trying to kill a George Street associate a few months ago in front of the
Queen Street Police Station missed his intended target and caught a police officer and three other innocent by-standers.
He appeared today in the Belize Family Court in connection with his criminal charges for four counts of attempted murder among other serious charges.
We have learned from reliable police sources that a hit has been placed for the minor who is fearful of his life and he now needs the protection of the police department; ironic considering his victims.
This morning, the Belize Police Department had to increase the presence of police between the Belize Family Court and the Belize City Magistrate’s Court where the minor moved around during his appearance at court today.
The team of officers including in the escorting of the minor were officers in civilian clothing from the Special Police Branch Unit.
They made sure the minor was taken safely to the Belize Family Court where he got an adjournment date for his case for sometime in October and then for about 2-3 minutes he was brought over to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court in the van and quickly whisked off to the Wagner’s Youth Facility where he is being housed since he is a minor.
The escorting of the minor went without any incident.
