Cayo man beaten in Benque succumbs to injuries

By BBN Staff: On August 5th we reported that Michael Pagett, 36, from San Ignacio Town was badly beaten by two men in Benque Viejo Del Carmen on July 31st 2016 and was in a critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH).

The incident happened in front of Latin Bliss Bar located on George Price Boulevard where police observed a man on the ground faced down bleeding from behind his head and a swelling to the left side of the face.

Benque police had arrested and charged Filadelfio Arriaza, 20, a Belizean shopkeeper of George Price Boulevard, Benque Viejo Town, and Gumercindo Marcelo Can, 24, a Belizean Laborer of Jose Marti Street, Benque Viejo Town for the crimes of “Dangerous Harm” and “Use of Deadly Means of Harm” upon Michael  Pagett.

This morning, BBN received reliable reports that Pagett passed away at KHMH.

BBN extends deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Michael Pagett.
