Police recruit charged with statutory rape of 15-year old girl

By Aaron Humes: Belmopan police have arrested a recruit police constable from the Cayo District, charging him with performing unlawful sexual intercourse on a 15 year old student who says she is his girlfriend.

The teenager and her mother told police that the act took place around noon at her residence on June 3rd, 2016; but they had known each other for approximately seven months before that.

Police say that the child was certified by medical examination to have been carnally known.

Belmopan Police are also seeking two other male persons who have had sexual intercourse with the same 15 year old female.
