By BBN Staff: Last night, an elderly man from Santa Familia village was the victim of a home invasion.

The man in his early 80’s, Tanishlau Carrias was at home when two people, a man and a woman rushed into his house and beat him up.

Reports are that the robbers tried to throw Carrias off his verandah.

The robbers stabbed the man to the head.

Carrias’ granddaughter lives nearby and heard his plea for help then alerted family members who went to help him.

He was taken to the San Ignacio Hospital and later to the Western regional in Belmopan for medical treatment.

The family members gathered a search party of villagers and went looking for the attackers who had escaped running from Carrias’ home.

They found the attackers in Billy white village and they were beaten at the hands of the Carrias’ family.
