By BBN Staff: The Cayo District youth council sent out a release expressing its support for the Belize National Teachers Union.

The release states that they recognize that teachers play a major role in educating the youth of a nation.

They listed out the many challenges teachers face in the classroom and the demands being placed on them by the Ministry of Education. They stress that teachers go the extra mile to prepare students to be  adults that will take our nation to success.

The release state that teachers were being treated as criminals on September 19, when they held their national rally.

The release ends by saying that the youths have been taught that they have a voice, if teachers do not have voice then what to the young people have today?
