Posted: Friday, October 7, 2016. 4:42 pm CST.

strong>By BBN Staff:Belize National Teacher’s Union president Luke Palacio confirmed this evening that the industrial action which commenced on Monday continues at least to Tuesday.

However, he opened the doors to a possible meeting on Tuesday or Wednesday, provided the Prime Minister formally reaches out to the Union to officially bring them back to the negotiating table.

The Union also demanded that Minister of Foreign Affairs Wilfred Elrington apologize publicly for suggesting that he did not know that the teachers had the wisdom, ability and competence to tackle the issues they are protesting about.
