Bar Association mourns passing of Senior Counsel Michael Young

By BBN Staff: The Bar Association of Belize issued a press release yesterday expressing their sadness as they mourn the passing of Senior Counsel Michael Young who they describe as a mentor, brother, long time friend, and colleague.

The release gives a brief history of Young’s law career. It goes on to state that he was admitted to practice law in Belize in 1977 and was elevated to the status of Senior Counsel in 1996 in recognition of his excellence in the practice of law.

Young is described as an iconic practitioner of law and the Bar association of Belize acknowledges his stellar contributions to the development of Belize’s jurisprudence. It goes on to describe Young as being passionate about law and about Belize, and that he was a strong supporter of the Bar Association.

The release ends by expressing the Bar’s condolences to Young’s family and extended family of Young’s law firm.
