By BBN Staff: The Corozal Town Council is seeking to impose taxes on its taxi operators.
According to a letter from the Corozal Town Council, taxi drivers will not be allowed to operate in the town without a trade license.
Local taxi drivers belonging to a taxi association will be required to pay an annual trade license of $100 while those rural taxis operating in town but do not belong to any association or union will be required to pay $150.
The payments are to be made no later than December 15, 2016.
