By BBN Staff: The Belize National Teachers’ Union (BNTU) is currently parading through the streets of Belize City.

However, the turn out has been minimal when compared to previous marches held in recent times.

Nevertheless today’s event is to send a message of thank you to all those who supported its eleven days of protest.

Also it is to ask the public for support as the BNTU negotiates with the Ministry of Education which has threathened to withhold its salary contributions to those teachers who engaged in the industrial action.

BBN estimates today’s turnout at 300.
