By BBN Staff: Today, seven residents from Santa Familia village completed training and graduated from the Volunteer Special Constables program.
Present at today’s event were National Coordinator for Citizens on Patrol Program and Voluntary Special Constables, Rudolph Orio and Deputy Officer Commanding San Ignacio Police, Daniel Iche.
These Volunteer Special Constables for the Santa Familia Rural West police precinct will assist the Santa Familia formation to police the 17 villages to the west of San Ignacio Central Police Precinct.
The San Ignacio police is also scheduling the recruitment drive before the end of November for VSC for San Antonio Rural East Police Precinct to compliment the San Antonio Police to police the 21 villages to the east of San Ignacio Central Police Precinct.
In an interview with BBN, Officer Commanding San Ignacio Police, Supt. Richard Rosado told us “ I am truly grateful to all the community members who have agreed to volunteer their time to assist the police in policing their community. Our effort to police the community will only be as effective as the community involvement in assisting the police to police their community.”
The Cayo Special Constables and the police will commence this Tuesday, November 15, the anti- crime campaign for the twin towns and surrounding villages.
