By BBN Staff: Several men and women spent the last 17 weeks of their lives preparing to become fire fighters.
While 38 persons signed up initially, today only 30 remained and graduated upon receiving recognition.
One newly installed fire fighter, Raymond Marin, spoke to BBN today about his experiences.
According to Marin, there is no degree or experience that can adequately prepare you for the physical nature of being a fire fighter.
He told us additionally that the trainings have helped to add discipline to his life. He was forced to wake up early, runs 7 miles on Tuesdays and Thursdays and stayed inside the station instead of being out socializing.
According to Minister Edmund Castro, while the fire service continues to grow in number, with time the tools used to attend to fires will also be improved.
