Belmopan police to receive new mirror for ID Parade

Posted: Wednesday, November 23, 2016. 7:49 p.m. CST.

By BBN Staff: The Belmopan police has no mirror for identification parades.

Witnesses would need to physically go up face to face with an accused person and identify him/her. This has caused many cases to go down because witnesses were afraid or reluctant to take part.

A new mirror for ID parade will soon be installed. This new project will protect the identities of witnesses.

Officer commanding Belmopan police, Sr. Supt. Howell Gillett stated that once the mirror is placed, the identities of witnesses will be protected and the conviction rate will increase.

Gillett extends gratitude to DFC for partnering with them.
