By BBN Staff: There were two separate stabbing incidents in Belize City yesterday.
According to police reports, yesterday evening around 5:30 p.m. police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where officers saw a 13-year-old boy of a Belize City address, suffering from two stab wounds to the abdomen.
Initial investigations revealed that he was socializing in an alley near a school on Dolphin Street along with friends when a male he knows only as “Winston” arrived at the location and got into an altercation with him, inflicting the stab wounds.
Police have since detained a 38-year-old man of a Belize City address pending investigation.
In the other instance, last night around 9:00, police visited the KHMH where officers saw Police Constable #95 Raul Juchim suffering from a stab wound to the back.
Initial investigations revealed that he was socializing at a residence on Ordonez Street, Belize City when two men arrived. When they were asked to leave the premises, however, they both refused.
PC Juchim intervened and in the process he was stabbed. He was thentransported to the KHMH where he was treated and released.
