Police seek one man in connection with Cayo murder

By BBN Staff: Last night around 8:30 p.m., police responded to a murder scene in Yalbac Village, Cayo where farmer, Melecio Gonzalez was seen lying on the roadside.

Initial investigations reveal that at about 12:30 p.m. that day, one “Maximiliano, Abimael August, Eugenia August and Maria Izabel Toj were socializing at his residence when an altercation occurred”.

According to police reports, later in the evening, Gonzalez was walking to a nearby shop when he was attacked by Maximiliano and was reportedly hit in the head with a rock and fell unconscious.

He was transported to the San Ignacio Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 11:42 p.m.

Police are seeking Maximiliano (AKA Max) as investigations continue.
