Security at BEL’s Corporate Headquarters robbed of firearm

By BBN Staff: The security at Belize Electricity Limited’s (BEL’s) Corporate headquarters located on the Philip Goldson Highway was robbed around 2:30 this afternoon.

Two assailants approached and overpowered the security guard at the front gate of the corporate headquarters and stole his fire arm.

The company issued a memo this afternoon to employees stating that the assailants did not attempt to access the building, or approach any employee or customers, and that no one was hurt during the incident.

Police are investigating this latest brazen robbery.
