Police issue official report on murder in Punta Gorda

By BBN Staff: According to police reports, last night around 7:28 p.m. , police responded to a shooting incident in the Indian Ville area of Punta Gorda and visited Santa Maria Street where officers saw 35-year-old Alexander Palacio Jr. of Sapodilla Street lying on the street with a gunshot wound to the back.

The investigation reveals that Palacio was walking on Santa Maria Street when two men approached him from behind. One took out a gun and fired several shots at him before escaping.

Palacio was transported to the Punta Gorda Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:14 p.m.

The body now awaits a post-mortem examination. Police are investigating.
