GSU bust marijuana dealers in Belize City

By BBN Staff: Yesterday evening around 5, members of the Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) executed a search warrant for controlled drugs at the residence of Elsworth Morter located at #628 Lavender Street, Belize City.

Present at the time of the search along with Morter were Jose Zelaya, Joseph Lopez, Tyron Macfoy, Shenique Perez,Eugene Macfoy, Vivian Fuller as well as two minors.

The officers conducted searches on each person who were present and a search conducted on Morter yielded a bag amounting to 42 grams of cannabis inside his pocket.

Further searches were conducted in the house where officers found another black plastic bag located just behind a television containing 49 grams of cannabis. Searches were also done inside two brown cardboard barrels where the officers found (54) parcels in black plastic bags containing 13.5 kilograms of cannabis.

Morter along with all seven other persons were arrested and charged for “possession of controlled drugs”.
