By BBN Staff: According to El Diario de Yucatan, Roberto Najera also known as “La Gallina” has been arrested by the Mexican State Police.
Najera is an alleged operator of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán for southeastern Mexico and Belize.
He is also known as the point man that controls drug trafficking in Chiapas, Veracruz, Campeche and Yucatan, as well as being a financial operator of the Sinaloa cartel.
He was captured in a road blockade in Tizimín, a city located in the Tizimín Municipality in the Mexican state of Yucatán.
Police also arrested Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Ramírez and Romeo Orantes Gómez and seized five weapons, three nine-millimeter guns, and two AK-47 assault rifles, as well as bulletproof vests.
The men were traveling in a Toyota Hilux van.
Nájera Gutiérrez had already been arrested in 2013 by the Federal Police but was subsequently released after bribing police officers.
