The incident occurred sometime around midnight when the victim and a male friend had left an inter-office basketball match and had gone to the popular “Roots” bar in Punta Gorda.
The man, reportedly an IT technician working for the Ministry of Health, appeared to have been intoxicated and got into an argument with some other men.
One of his attackers reportedly hit him to the head with a bottle causing him to bleed. His friend reportedly fled the scene when the fight started. The victim’s windshield of his 2001 Mazda Tribute was also reportedly broken by the attackers.
BBN understands that the victim only recently filed a police report.
