By BBN Staff: Today, the Belize Training and Employment Centre (BTEC) gave out certificates to 66 graduates from its Job Preparedness Training course.
BTEC held the graduation at it’s office on the ITVET compound in Belize city, where it handed out completion certificates for the three-week course in Front Desk, Introduction to Bartending and Janitorial House-keeping.
Lejia Melanie Gideon, BTEC General Manager, explained that the participants had to undergo 7-10 days worth of soft skills training in areas such as time management, effective communication and taking criticism before going through the technical aspects of their training for the specific jobs.
Gideon also said that BTEC also helps participants with job placement, and will be holding an interview day with the graduates and various private sector entities.
The organization Happy Maids facilitated the house keeping training; the Belize Institute of Mixology, and BTEC’s certified staff facilitated the Front desk training.
