Biscayne man killed for $15

By BBN Staff: John Ortiz, 44, a Biscayne resident was found dead yesterday in the Sandhill area between miles 19 and 20 on the Philip Goldson Highway.

According to police reports, he was found with a cut wound to the right side of his chin, one to the right eyebrow area, another injury to the right side of the head, and a scrape to the right cheek. There was a shoe impression imprinted in blood on his face.

Police suspect that he was robbed while trying to hitch hike home.

His robber lashed him out with a two by four and took $15 from him.

According to police reports, one man has since been detained. Our sources say he confessed to the crime but that is unconfirmed.
