By BBN Staff: The Auditor General’s report revealed that eight visa stickers had gone missing from the Western border.
However, they were sold to former Belize City Deputy Mayor Eric Chang who was told by Immigration officers that the stickers were illegitimate.
Nevertheless, the report by the Auditor General claimed that Cano went on to approve the issuance of eight visas without these stickers.
When asked today if the statement is accurate he told the committee it was not true.
He further told the committee that at the time the stickers had gone missing, he was on vacation.
Cano’s former CEO in Immigration, Candelaria Salivar is next to appear in front of the committee.
