Living Legend- Lester Richards

By Delroy Cuthkelvin:  Almost 68 years old, Lester Adolfo Richards (Senior Justice of the Peace and Commissioner of the Supreme Court) from Independence Village, Stann Creek District, is a living legend.

Having worked since age 21 at various levels in the Banana Industry (from machete-man to tractor-driver to storeroom-keeper to time-keeper to paymaster to farm-manager), he is now retired and rehired, still serving efficiently as a senior security officer at the Port of Big Creek. (We recently had the pleasure of running into him two consecutive days while on tour with Hon Edmond Castro and Hon John Saldivar).

A passionate proponent of the current administration, Mr Lester is widely respected as a man who, above all, loves his community and country. It is people like Mr Lester Richards who make our communities strong, our country productive and uniquely Belizean.

Respect and congratulations to this unsung hero and Belizean patriot!
