18-year-old charged for keeping firearm and ammo without gun license

By BBN Staff: Police have charged an 18-year-old-youth from Belize City for keeping a firearm and ammunition without a gun license.

According to police reports, yesterday evening around 6:15, they were conducting a mobile patrol on Euphrates Avenue in Belize City when they stopped and searched a group of men sitting on a fence on the basketball court.

A search of the area and of a male person in the group led to the discovery of a black 9 mm pistol along with a magazine containing 7 live 9mm rounds of ammunition.

As a result, police have arrested and charged 18-year-old Asher Saunders of Bagdad Street, Belize City for the offence of keeping a firearm and ammunition without a gun license.
