Alvaro Aldana, 23, gunned down in San Ignacio Town last night

By BBN Staff:According to police reports, on Sunday, February 19, 2017 about 11:58 p.m. acting on information received of shots fired behind the PK Store in San Ignacio Town, they visited the area where they saw 23-year-old Alvaro Aldana of the Kontiki Area, San Ignacio on the ground motionless.

Investigation reveals that Aldana was along with his common-law wife walking through the park nearby when a male person approached them and Aldana told his wife to run, which she did, and she then heard gunshots being fired at his common law husband.

Aldana was taken to San Ignacio Community Hospital (suffering from a stab wound to the back, two gunshot wounds to the left side of his body, and one under his left eye) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The public is asked if they have any information concerning this incident, to contact nearest police station.
