Police issues report on road traffic accident in Santa Cruz which claimed one life

By BBN Staff:According to police reports, on Friday, February 24 around 4:19 a.m., Intermediate Southern Formation received information of a road traffic accident in Santa Rosa Village, Stann Creek District.
When police went to the scene, they saw Maximo Ical, 21, of San Roman Village, Stann Creek lying on the road motionless and appeared dead with severe head injuries.
Police also saw a Motorcycle “Cool Boy Blue and White” with no license plate on the side of the road broken in two, and a Massey Ferguson Tractor bearing license plate SC A-2024 which was neither licensed nor insured.
Investigation revealed that the driver of the tractor, Ramiro Orellano, 39, of Santa Cruz Village, Stann Creek , reported that at 4:00 a.m. while travelling on the Southern Highway in Santa Cruz Village on the right hand side of the road, a motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction came into his lane and could not avoid being hit by the tractor.
Ical was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital and was pronounced dead at 7:30 a.m.
