Civil Aviation issues drone advisory

By BBN Staff:Today, the Belize Department of Civil Aviation issued a statement reminding the general public that the operation of drones within a five-mile radius of any public or private airport without the explicit written consent from the Director of Civil Aviation is strictly prohibited.

Further, any person wishing to utilize a drone for the filming of the upcoming La Ruta Maya River challenge must obtain written permission along with operating limitations from the Department of Civil Aviation.

The statement says that drone operations during the La Ruta Maya River Challenge will not be permitted in the following areas:

From Young Bank Village to the Banana Bank Lodge
From Burrell Boom Village to the Haulover Bridge.
