Fatal RTA on George Price Highway, Cayo leaves one dead

By BBN Staff: Reports reaching our newsroom is that last night shortly after 11:00, a van ran off the road killing one of its occupants.

The driver of the van lost control and ran into an open lot on the left side of the road on the George Price Highway.

The van was reportedly travelling from a west to east direction from Benque Viejo to San Ignacio town.

The van was driven by Kendra Mejia, 22, of Succotz village. Mejia reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

Information indicates that Mejia was accompanied by other passengers at the time of the accident.

A source has confirmed to BBN that one other person has succumbed to their injuries as a result.

BBN will have more information on this as an official police report is issued.
