By BBN Staff: After being in prison on remand for murder for more than five years, Ronlee Petillo got out of prison in June of 2016.

Just one month after being released, Petillo was arrested for another murder.

Roger Williams Banner was sitting on the rail of the canal in front of Public’s supermarket speaking to his girlfriend when the culprit fired several shots at him, killing him.

Yesterday, Petillo appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser. He claimed that there was no evidence against him because the witness did not name him.

The witness had said that she saw who the shooter was. Senior Magistrate Fraser declared that the witness has identified him in a group identification parade.

The Magistrate stated that she reviewed 2 statements and found that there is sufficient evidence to send the matter up to the Supreme Court. Petillo will now stand trial for the murder of Roger Williams Banner in the June session of the Supreme Court.
