By BBN Staff: At the budget presentation on Monday, Prime Minister Dean Barrow summarized the country’s economic outlook and said there would be positive developments for the new fiscal year 2017/18.

In Barrow’s words: “The conditions of the economy and the public finances will improve appreciably in the coming financial period, and this will be secured both by natural rebound and by our measured consolidation.”

According to the PM: “Living within our means, supporting Belize’s families, investing in the skills of our young people, making Belize a better place to do business and to live – these are the priorities that will immutably define our Administration’s governance trajectory.”
