Woman drowns in Punta Gorda

By BBN Staff: A woman drowned in Punta Gorda Town yesterday morning.

According to police reports, the victim is Telma Coc, 28, a Guatemalan housewife. The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. behind Vernon’s Pharmacy on Front Street, Punta Gorda Town.

When police visited the area, they saw her body floating in the river with abrasions and scrapes on both knees.

The body was retried and transported to Punta Gorda Hospital Morgue.

Police are investigating.
