By BBN Staff: According to an official report from police, on Friday night around 9, police visited Larios Bar located at the Belize Adjacency Zone area (Champon) at the Belize Western Border where they saw Carlos Manzanero, 40, Belizean bus driver of San Jose Succotz Village, Cayo seated in a chair with multiple gunshot wounds to his stomach area, right hand, and right knee.
He was transported to the San Ignacio Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:20 p.m.
The body now lies at the Western Regional Hospital Morgue awaiting a postmortem examination.
Investigation revealed that around 8:50 p.m. while Manzanero and other family members were socializing at Larios Bar, he was approached by a Hispanic man who came out of a car with a handgun and started to fire several shots at Manzanero.
The culprit then entered his vehicle and drove off to Melchor De Mencos, Guatemala.
Police investigations continue.
