Human remains found near Iguana Creek, Cayo

By BBN Staff: Yesterday around 1:06 p.m. Cayo police responded to reports of body parts found in a bag in the river near the Iguana Creek Bridge in Cayo.

A team of police officers visited the area where approximately 900 meters down the Belize River, a black plastic bag containing a white bag was discovered.

The bag contained two amputated hands from elbow down and two amputated feet from the knee down believed to be that of a human.

The amputated body parts were taken to the San Ignacio Community Hospital awaiting a post mortem examination.

Efforts are being made to locate the other body parts as the investigation continues.
