Honduran national kills police officer in Belize City

By BBN Staff: Yesterday afternoon around 3:25, acting upon information received of a stabbing incident, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where they saw  Police Constable  #844 Marvin Locke of Belize City suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen area.

Investigation reveals that around 3:15 p.m., Locke was at Precinct Two, Raccoon Street, Police Station compound when Marcial Toledo, 47,  a Honduran national and laborer of Belize City reportedly approached him from behind and inflicted the fatal injuries.

Locke succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Toledo sustained an injury to his head during his apprehension and was escorted to the KHMH for medical treatment where he was admitted under police guard.

The body of Locke now lies at the KHMH Morgue awaiting a post mortem examination.
