Good Samaritan fatally stabbed while trying to help

By BBN Staff: On Sunday  at 10:30 p.m., police visited Santa Cruz village where on arrival at Los Amigos bar, cops saw Ostin Zavala, 23, a Belizean construction worker of Bella Vista Village, Stann Creek District on the ground in front of the establishment suffering from a cut wound to his chest.

Police investigations revealed that Zavala arrived at Los Amigos Bar around 10:00 p.m. and saw a man attacking the owner of the establishment. He tried to intervene and was fatally stabbed in the process.

Police have detained one person as investigations continue.
