By BBN Staff: Yesterday, key figures in security from the different Caribbean countries gathered in Belize City to observe the systematic and technical functions of the information management systems within the country’s criminal justice system.

This was an initiative of the newly launched CARISECURE Project, a project aimed at “Strengthening evidence based decision making for citizen security in the Caribbean”.

Belize was recognized as a unique pioneer to create a link between the regions for information and data sharing on citizen security related topics that affect the hemisphere; and was selected as an ideal partner for this exchange.

The participants of the technical exchange visited Belize’s Crime Observatory and the Belize Forensic Science Service. This gave them greater insight as the different countries move to establish their own observatories.
