By BBN Staff:Today, the Embassy of Belize in Brussels, Belgium hosted a promotional event aimed at generating interest in importing Belize’s high-quality cacao beans and encouraging investments in the expansion of cacao production and processing in Belize.

Ambassador of Belize to Belgium and the European Union, H.E. Dylan Vernon made a presentation on the industry’s history, capacity, and potential to important players in Belgium’s chocolate industry, including some of Belgium’s prominent chocolatiers.

The Embassy of Belize also showcased the variety of cacao-based products manufactured locally in the country, including chocolate bars, cocoa powder, cocoa tea, and liqueurs.

An exploratory investment mission from Belgium to Belize in 2017 will serve as a concrete follow up activity.

The event, which was a part of the Embassy’s efforts to support the promotion of trade and investment for Belize, was a joint effort between the Embassy of Belize in Brussels and BELTRAIDE, and with the collaboration of EURACEN, the Chamber of Commerce of Europe-Central America.
