By BBN Staff: The Commissioner of Police (ComPol) and senior brass of the Police department are expected to meet with the media at 10:00 this morning to discuss the way forward in regards to the media boycott of police events.
The meeting comes on the heels of one of the most violent weekends since the start of the year when the new media-police policy was introduced. The new model has proven ineffective and the media has called for this meeting for weeks.
The Police Department, however, has extended no official invitation to the media for the meeting. Members of the press, however, have decided to still attend in good faith in an attempt to resolve the impasse and restore, or at least, normalize relations between the police and the media.
BBN will have more on this following the outcome of the meeting.
