Businesswoman car jacked in Cayo; vehicle found destroyed a day later

By BBN Staff: On Saturday, a businesswoman of Cristo Rey Road, Santa Elena, Cayo reported that on March 31st 2017 about 9:20 p.m. while driving her Silver 4-door GMC 2011 Terrain SUV on the Cristo Rey Road, her vehicle broke down.

She reportedly secured it and left it on the roadside.

On Saturday morning around 9:45, she discovered that her vehicle was missing from where she had left it parked and decided to visit the San Ignacio Police Station to file a report.

While filing her report, she was informed that her vehicle was found about 5 miles on the Georgeville Road completely destroyed by fire.

The vehicle was valued at $45,000.00.

Police are investigating.
