Belize Announces Farmers of the Year 2017

By BBN Staff: The National Agriculture and Trade Show (NATS) Committee under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, the Environment, Sustainable Development and Immigration today announced the 2017 Farmers of the Year as follows:

 

  1. Male Farmer of the Year        –  Gary Canto (Cayo District)
  2. Female Farmer of the Year     –  Maria Flowers (Toledo District)
  3. Junior Farmer of the Year      – Santiago Gutierrez (Cayo District)

 

A heartfelt gratitude is also extended to the judges:

  • Martin Lindo –Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI)
  • Andrew Mejia – Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, the Environment, Sustainable Development and Immigration.
  • Nonato Canto –Pesticide Control Board
  • Martin Castillo – National 4H Youth Development Center (Videographer)

 

The NATS Committee reminds the public that this year’s event is scheduled for the 28th, 29th, and 30th of April, 2017, under the theme “Let’s Get Growing”.
