By BBN Staff: Big changes are reportedly coming to the Belize Police Department in the upcoming months.
Reliable sources have told BBN that the Commissioner of Police, Allen Whylie, will be placing the Eastern Division under a single commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Desiree Phillips, as was the original configuration before 2015.
Phillips will be supported by three sub commanders: Sr Superintendents Marco Vidal, Alden Dawson, and Ralph Moody.
ACP Chester Williams and ACP Edward Broaster, the current commanders of Eastern Division South and Rural, will both be transferred to Belmopan. There are conflicting reports, saying that Williams will either be placed at the prosecution branch or be made the head of the professional standards branch; while Broaster will be made head of operations.
The change is expected to take place in July.
