Cops arrest thieves just hours after robbery

By BBN Staff: After robbing $800 and a cell phone from a business establishment outside of Belmopan, two men have found themselves in police custody.

 
According to police, on Friday they visited Circle R Product establishment located at Mile 44 on the George Price Highway, Cayo District where they spoke with the manager who reported to them that at around 2:24 p.m., while he was inside the business establishment two male persons entered the store asking for him.

The male persons then reportedly pulled out a black revolver and pointed it at him and escorted him inside to his office where he was hit to the head with the revolver while the other male person, jumped over the counter and stole $800.00 in cash along with (1) black Samsung Galaxy S4 cellular phone (value unknown) which is property of the company.

A quick police response led to the arrests of Belize City men:  Florentino Ruiz, 28, and Abraham Vellos, 21.

They were charged with the crime of robbery. Also the .38 revolver believed to have been the weapon used in the crime was recovered from the men.
