Man Shot in the Face in Santa Elena, Cayo

By BBN Staff: According to police reports, yesterday around 1:10 a.m., police visited a restaurant located on Bishop Martin Street, Santa Elena Town where they saw Deon Gongora 24, of Hillview area, Santa Elena Town suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of his face.

Initial investigations revealed that Gongora was sitting on a picnic table in front of the restaurant along with a male person when they were approached by another male person who fired a single gunshot at Gongora causing his injury.

Gongora was transported to the San Ignacio Town Hospital and later to the Western Regional Hospital where he was admitted in a critical but stable condition.

Police investigations continue.
